Checkout Policy

BOOKS are to be checked out for a period of two weeks. New books are limited to three per patron per checkout period. A maximum of ten books per patron per checkout period.

REFERENCE BOOKS cannot be checked out.

VIDEOCASSETTE MATERIALS are to be checked out to adults 18 years of age and older or to minor children with written permission of a parent or guardian on file.

  • Videos are to be checked out for a period of one week.
     
  • Videos will not be renewed after the normal checkout period.
     
  • Videos cannot be reserved.
     
  • Videos are limited to three per household at one time.
     

AUDIO CASSETTES are to be checked out for a period of two weeks and may be renewed.

PROJECTORS, SCREENS, and other checkable EQUIPMENT may be checked out for one week and may not be renewed.

PAINTINGS are to be checked out for a period of two months.

  • Paintings will not be renewed after the normal checkout period.

MAGAZINES and PAMPHLETS are to be checked out for a period of two weeks.

  • Current issues of magazines cannot be checked out.

RENEWALS where applicable can be made in person, by phone or online through the library website.

  • Renewable materials may be rechecked only once.
     
  • Patron has full responsibility for materials checked out on his/her card and/or for materials checked out by minor children.
     
  • Longer check-out periods may be available by request in special circumstances.
     

LIBRARY MATERIALS MAY BE RETURNED to the circulation desk during regular library hours. After regular hours, all materials may be returned to the book drop located on the north side of the front entrance of the library. Materials returned after business hours will be checked in on the next business day.

FINES will be assessed on all materials kept past the due date.

  • Books - five cents per book per day.
     
  • Video cassettes - one dollar per cassette per day.
     
  • Audio cassettes - five cents per cassette per day.
     
  • Paintings - twenty-five cents per day.
     
  • Magazines - five cents per day.

Patron accepts responsibility to pay replacement charges for lost or damaged materials.
