Safety Sign-In

The numbers of unaccompanied children coming to the library after school have increased tremendously this year, and with the change of seasons, we are concerned about the safety of our after-school crowd. Lost children, minor injuries and severe weather are all concerns with children who are without adult supervision.  Because we never know when and where an emergency may occur, we are implementing a sign-in for every minor that comes to the library without a parent. Each child will log in at the front desk with their name and a phone number where a parent or guardian may be reached. Parents and/or guardians need to make sure that children know the full name and correct contact number for the adult to be called.  If an issue arises, library staff can contact the parent or guardian and resolve the matter immediately.
