The Stevens County Library has microfilm from every newspaper printed in Stevens County.  Included in the holdings are fifteen separate newspapers spanning almost 130 years.  Although we have provided a database with many of the obituary records culled from these newspaper archives, looking through microfilm or hard copy newspaper files for particular information about any person mentioned in the newspapers is a laborious and time-consuming endeavor The Stevens County Library is pleased to announce that digitization of the microfilm of the newspapers of Stevens County is now complete. XBOX 360 GAMES COLLECTION

We now have a small collection of games for XBOX 360!  Kids under age 18 will need a parental permission form on file to check out a game. Only 1 (one) video game per household, please. First Lady Mary Brownback recognizes Kansas Notable Readers Topeka –The top readers of the Read Kansas Read summer reading program and their families have been invited to join First Lady Mary Brownback for an award ceremony at the Kansas Book Festival Saturday, September 7. Read Kansas Read is a summer reading program launched in May 2011 by Governor Brownback, the Kansas State Department of Education and the State Library of Kansas. Students across Kansas spent the summer recording the number of minutes they read on their reading log. On August 12th, Read Kansas Read participants recorded more than 700,000 minutes
